The Belgium 2 Euro Coin 2026 “50 Years of the National Geographic Institute and 200 Years of the Royal Observatory of Belgium” is issued in Brilliant Uncirculated quality and comes in an official collector coincard. The issue brings together two important Belgian scientific institutions – the National Geographic Institute, responsible for mapping and geographical data, and the Royal Observatory of Belgium, a centre for astronomical and geophysical research.
The coin design combines geography and astronomy, featuring a child standing on a map and looking towards the universe, symbolically connecting the exploration of Earth with the study of space. This version is presented in a Dutch-language coincard.
